The book came in in brand new great condition. There is no damage to any corner of the book or the side of the book. There is no CD but QR codes for the apps to access more learning material and the audio, which is great because I don’t have a CD drive. Excited to pick up Japanese again with this book.

Genki is an excellent book for anyone wanting a structured approach to learning Japanese. The lessons build on each other logically, and the practice exercises really reinforce the material. I’m using it for self-study, and while it helps to have a tutor, it’s definitely doable on your own with some extra effort.

While Genki is a great book, I found some explanations a bit lacking, especially for tricky grammar points. The exercises help, but I wish there were more English translations for beginners. If you're a complete newbie, be ready to use extra resources alongside this.

I’ve tried multiple Japanese textbooks, and Genki is by far the best for beginners. It keeps things engaging with fun dialogues, and the exercises reinforce learning well. The 3rd edition has some nice updates, but even the older versions are solid. Definitely worth it!

Genki is well-structured and covers essential grammar points in a logical way. However, if you're self-studying, you might need extra resources like YouTube or an online tutor to fully grasp some concepts. The book assumes you have a teacher, but overall, it's still a great learning tool.
